Ladle Porous Plug can be made of a slit type which is composed of a permeable core, a seat brick and a high quality fire mud, The main quality of the porous plug and Seat well block are chrome-corundum and corundum-spinel. Adopting tabular alumina, emery, chromium oxide green and magnesium alumina spinel as main raw materials, using cement as binder to produce directional slit porous plug, which has the advantages of structural stability, high air permeability, strong corrosion resistant and long service life etc. Due to the heat-replaceable replacement of the venting core, it is flexible in use and can be used in various refining conditions. Seat well block is a refractory brick built at the bottom of the steel drum and fixing the nozzle brick. Its shape is square, so it is also called square brick. The function is to fix the position of the nozzle;it is easy to disassemble and install the nozzle; support the lower end of the plug rod when pouring; after pouring, ensure that the plug rod slides toward the nozzle along the arc surface to cut off the injection flow. The material of the seat block can be clay, high aluminum or non-burning high aluminum.It has high corrosion resistance and is used in conjunction with zirconium sizing nozzles. It has the advantages of no deformation and no cracks.They are mainly used for continuous casting tundish and nozzle.
Features
(1) Good air permeability.
Breathability is one of the important parameters to measure the quality of breathable bricks. The research shows that the stirring energy of molten steel is proportional to the flow rate of the blown gas; stirring can directly affect the stirring efficiency of molten steel, and only enough stirring energy can make the molten steel get a good stirring effect. When the amount of argon blowing is constant, the more argon bubbles are blown, the more beneficial it is for degassing and stirring the molten steel.
(2) High temperature corrosion resistance.
The refining ladle is very strict in terms of temperature and time. The maximum temperature often reaches more than 1750 ℃, and the refining time sometimes reaches tens of minutes. During the refining operation, the basicity of the slag has a great influence on the life of the breathable brick. Therefore, the air-permeable brick will be eroded by the alkaline slag with high permeability at high temperature, and the damage speed is fast.
(3) High temperature wear resistance.
When argon is blown at the bottom of the ladle, the flow of molten steel in the ladle is very fast due to the argon blowing at the bottom. The erosion and wear of the molten steel on the lining material and the air-permeable bricks and seat bricks at the bottom are significantly increased. During the hot repair of the ladle, in order to remove the residual steel and residue on the surface of the breathable brick and restore the breathable function of the breathable brick, the surface of the breathable brick needs to be cleaned by blowing oxygen to melt the steel slag adhered to the surface of the breathable brick; The gas blows away the slag. During the cleaning process, the air-permeable bricks are washed by the high-speed airflow, so the air-permeable bricks are required to have good high-temperature wear resistance.
(4) Good thermal shock resistance.
Due to the intermittent operation of the ladle, when the ladle is poured into the molten steel, the end of the breathable brick is affected by the high-temperature molten steel, and the temperature rises suddenly. When the argon gas is blown, it is cooled by the cold air flow and a large thermal stress is generated inside the material. At the same time, when molten steel is injected into the ladle empty ladle, there will be a large temperature change, so the use conditions of the air-permeable brick are very harsh, and it is easy to produce thermal peeling and structural peeling.
(5) The installation is simple, safe and reliable.
The breathable brick is installed inside the bottom brick of the ladle. The working conditions are extremely harsh. The life of the ladle breathable brick cannot be synchronized with the life of the entire ladle. Therefore, the breathable brick needs to be replaced. Therefore, the installation and operation are required to be simple, safe and reliable, and to avoid the occurrence of steel infiltration and steel leakage.
