When adding chromium oxide, the particle size of the refractory powder should be adjusted, and different particle size classifications will affect the performance of the chromium corundum castable. Increasing the amount of Cr2O3 can improve the slag resistance of the castable, especially the slag penetration resistance.
Applications
Chrome corundum castables are mainly used for lining of carbon black reaction furnaces and coal-water slurry gasifiers, and the operating temperature is generally above 1700 degrees. Also used in high temperature areas of melting furnaces with an oxidizing atmosphere, such as the slag part of gasification melting furnaces.
