Cordierite Slab Details
Products Description
Cordierite slab is a type of material used in kiln furniture. It is a ceramic material with high thermal shock resistance and good insulation properties, making it ideal for use in kiln construction. Cordierite slabs are commonly used to line the walls and floors of kilns and are often used in combination with other insulating materials such as fiber board and high-temperature quartz.
Cordierite slabs are a type of ceramic material made from a combination of different minerals, such as magnesium, aluminum, and silicon. This combination gives cordierite slabs an impressive range of properties, including a low thermal expansion, low thermal shrinkage, and excellent thermal shock resistance. Cordierite slabs are commonly used in the production of kiln furniture, such as shelves and stilts, as well as in automotive exhaust components, due to their combination of light weight and superior thermal strength.
Features
1.High thermal shock resistance
2.Low thermal expansion
3.Lightweight: Cordierite slabs are very lightweight, making them easy to transport and install
4.Durable: Cordierite slabs are very durable and can withstand temperatures up to 1,200°C.

Application
1. Support Shelf - Cordierite kiln shelves are used to support delicate and heavy objects in a kiln. The ceramic material is highly resistant to warping and cracking due to the extreme temperatures of a kiln.
2. Spacers - Spacers are used to separate different objects in a kiln to prevent the objects from coming into contact with one another. The cordierite material provides extra insulation, which helps to ensure even heating and cooling of the objects.
3. Posts - Posts are used to attach shelves and other objects to the sides of a kiln. The cordierite material is resistant to warping and cracking, and can withstand the extreme temperatures of a kiln.
4. Flame Spreaders - Flame spreaders are used to direct the heat of the kiln evenly throughout the chamber. The cordierite material disperses the heat evenly, ensuring even heating of the objects inside the kiln.
